The latest figures that have come in during the year 2000 shows that almost 80% of the palliative patient had access to the palliative program. This shows the vast improvement that the US has been able to achieve in such short period. Their achievements should not be overlooked. Their percentage of palliative program reaching the common man has increased almost 4 times in 10 years which is remarkable. They have also been able to match these levels & numbers even through this decade. Even in oncology the story is similar.

In 1992, 80% of patients were dead in palliative care, which was an average of 25,000 medical treatment days every year. But in 2000 there was a reduction of about 19979 medical treatment care days. It is about time that the rest of the world also takes some tips from the US & follow their foot steps.
